Emerging from the Florida underground, Rick Ross, former correctional officer turned lyrical kingpin, quickly became the hottest MC in the game, and by the time his debut album Port Of Miami debuted on the top of the Billboards, Rozay had become one of Def Jam’s top tier artists racking up classic records, co-signs from hip-hop’s goats and a customary 50 Cent beef along the way. Taking his cues from the artists that he’d grown up admiring, Rozay wasted little time in using his newfound status to form his own label.
