Taylor Swift’s Recent Eras Tour Stage Malfunction

Taylor Swift was faced with another viral incident at the most recent stop of the Eras Tour.

Fans have lovingly dubbed the variety of mishaps that Swift has experienced on stage—from platform malfunctions to microphones on the fritz to Swift choking on a bug mid-speech—the "Errors Tour," and last night's stop in Cincinnati, Ohio was no exception, as seen in a new TikTok video uploaded by user @guavasink.

When things go as planned at the end of the reputation set, Swift and her dancers begin to walk from the center diamond toward the main stage together. The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer comes to a stop as her dancers continue to walk off without her, and a small elevator lowers her beneath the stage as the rest of the group exits through a door.

But something went wrong with the elevator during the first night in Cincy, and when it didn't lower the superstar as expected, she gave it what some perceived to be a playfully frustrated stomp with her left foot before hustling up the catwalk herself, breaking out into a run to beat the bulk of the dancers through the door.

In actuality, it was likely a signal to her crew to confirm that she was in place and ready to descend, but Swifties were tickled all the same by the gesture.

"She’s a runner she’s a track star," another joked, while some else imagined her frantically telling the dancers she brushed past, "the stage didn’t work the stage didn’t work!”

"dancers: 'Arianna, what are you doing here' 😂😆😲," another joked.

"...good for her for high tailing it in heels off the stage. She didn’t miss a beat. Very professional," someone else commended.

"Professional 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 acts quick when something goes wrong because the show must ALWAYS go on!" another comment echoed.

A number of theater kids sympathized with the frantic rush to successfully make her quick change in time, as well, with one writing, "All the theatre kids know the 'COMING THRU! I GOT A QUICK CHANGE!' Run 🥰🥰🥰."

Swift spends an incredibly limited time off-stage during her three-hour-plus set, disappearing for mere moments at a time for her quick change between each era, so when the stage malfunctions, it can seriously impact the rest of the well-oiled machine that the Eras Tour has proven to be night after night.
