Tennis star Serena Williams and her husband, business entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, have welcomed a new baby to the world!
Williams gave birth to their second baby girl, Ohanian revealed in an Instagram post on Tuesday, with the doting dad also sharing the newborn's name: "Welcome, Adira River Ohanian."
"I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT," he said in the touching health update alongside a sweet photo of the new family of four.
"Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter 🙏 I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister."
He concluded with a quote, writing: "Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea."
The couple are already parents to a five-year-old daughter named Olympia.
Williams announced her second pregnancy on the day of the 2023 Met Gala, sharing photos of herself and Ohanian all dressed up, revealing her pregnant belly.
The 41-year-old wittily captioned the pictures, "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala."
In 2022, Williams revealed that she was stepping away from tennis to focus on other things, including expanding her family. Thankfully, it wasn't too long before she announced that their second child was on the way.
While the sports star stated that she is not officially retired, she told Gayle King for CBS Mornings in February when asked if there was hope for a tennis comeback, "It's hard to say. I would say no. For now, no."
"I've literally given my whole life to tennis, and it's time for me to give my life to something else," she added. It's likely at this point that she already knew she was pregnant again.
