‘House of Kardashian’ First Trailer

Comcast-owned Sky has released the first trailer for its upcoming documentary series about the Kardshian-Jenner clan. #HouseofKardashian #CaitlynJenner #Sky #controversy #kimkardashian #KrisJenner #RayJ #kourtneykardashian #Khloé #Twitter #Instagram #ParisHilton #KardashianWest #KylieJenner #KendallJenner

Titled “House of Kardashian,” the three part docu-series promises to delve into the lives and legacies of Kris Jenner and her brood by speaking to some of the people closest to them — including Jenner’s ex-spouse Caitlyn Jenner and longtime family friend Joe Francis (of “Girls Gone Wild” fame) – as well as getting access to previously unseen archival footage of the family before they became famous.

Unlike their self-titled series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and its successor “The Kardashians,” none of the family had any editorial control over the documentary, which promises to be explosive.

In the first trailer, Caitlyn Jenner reveals: “Kimberly calculated from the beginning, ‘How do I become famous?’” while Francis tells the camera: “The sex tape was a means to an end. It was to create a controversy.”

And, an unnamed female voice says “Kris wanted to be more than just a housewife” while, according to another voiceover, most people fall into two camps: wanting to talk about the globally-famous family or thinking “They ruined the world!”

“No other family defines our time or divides opinion like the Kardashians,” reads the logline for the series. “To some they are admired as a dynasty of powerful women, inspiring girls across the planet. To others they are untalented and morally bankrupt reality stars, who are damaging women by selling their life as a superficial fairytale.

Caitlyn Jenner said of her involvement in the production: “I was happy to participate in the interview process to share my side which points to the strength, influence, and prowess my family has in captivating the world’s attention and keeping it over the years. I am incredibly proud of all my children and stepchildren.”

“House of Kardashian,” which was directed by Katie Hindley, is produced by Fremantle’s 72 Films (“The Rise of the Murdoch Dynasty”) in association with Sky Studios and is set to air in the U.K. on Oct. 8 on Sky Documentaries and streaming service Now.

Fremantle is repping global rights (excluding the U.S.) with a source telling Variety the docu-series is set to be one of the company’s “key titles” for upcoming TV market Mipcom.

“As a filmmaker, you might question what is left to reveal about the Kardashian-Jenners — arguably one of the most famously, overexposed families in Hollywood,” said Clare Cameron, executive producer at 72 Films. “Through our interviews with those who have been in the family’s orbit since the beginning, we uncover their personal motivations, and explore how a changing culture allowed their influence on women around the world to thrive.”

Cameron exec produced the documentary alongside 72 Films creative director John Douglas. The series was commissioned by Sky’s director of documentaries Poppy Dixon and commissioning editor Hayley Reynolds on behalf of Sky’s managing director for content Zai Bennett.
