GloRilla’s rise from the church pews of Memphis, Tennessee, to rap stardom has been rapid. “I grew up in the church. I got my sound from singing in the choir,” GloRilla tells Apple Music. “This feels like home. It reminds me of my upbringing, part of how I grew up and what made me.”
The 23-year-old MC found success when her breakout hit “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” went viral and secured her a record deal with hometown hero Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group label.
The success of “F.N.F” led Glo to snag her first Grammy nomination. As her friend Teezy Lashae told Apple Music, “Just be real, her name is Gloria Hallelujah, don’t y’all think this shit is destined for her?”
