A white woman went berserk on a Latino couple over the weekend, stopping cars in an Albuquerque mall parking lot to tell the pair to leave the country and “go back to Mexico”—all because they used a crosswalk.
According to Jonathan Gonzalez, he and his girlfriend were attempting to tread the crosswalk near the Coronado Center moments before the brutal confrontation. Gonzalez told KOAT the woman drove her car through the crosswalk without allowing them to walk across. Shortly after, she followed the couple into the parking lot.
"Truly, I was scared for my girlfriend because she was walking alongside where the woman was driving," Gonzalez said. "The woman wouldn't stop yelling and honking. She didn't put her window down, but when we turned around, she got out of the car."
"I did not understand, because my English is not good. That's when my girlfriend told me what she was saying. She speaks English. She's a U.S. Citizen. The woman was telling us to back to our country. She said more things, and that's when I started recording because my girlfriend was scared," Gonzalez said.
The TikTok video has garnered millions of views since its posting on social media. According to Gonzalez, he has received a multitude of support.
Several people have identified the woman in the video, stating, she has a pattern of unruly behavior toward others at businesses and establishments. However, her identity has not been confirmed.
