Donald Trump Jr.'s X, formerly known as Twitter, account was hacked as messages went out claiming that former president Donald Trump had passed away, as well as threats against North Korea.
People on X were shocked to read messages from Donald Trump Jr.'s account, claiming his father had passed away.
"I'm sad to announce, my father, Donald Trump has passed away. I will be running for president in 2024," one of the messages read.
Another said, "Richard Heart is innocent, when I become president I am going to burn the SEC."
It is obvious that the X account had been hacked as another message red, "Some interesting messages with Jeffry Epstein..." and "This just in: North Korea is about to get smoke."
The last one was aimed at Joe Biden, using profanity and threats.
X took care of the issue almost immediately, taking down the messages and reportedly getting the account back to Trump Jr., who has not yet to address the hack, but Andrew Surabian released a statement.
“Don’s account has been hacked,” Andrew Surabian posted on X, adding that the post claiming the former president had died was “obviously not true.”
The messages were captured via screenshots prior to them being taken down.
According to CNN, "The company is also still under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission over its ability to sufficiently protect user privacy and whether it may have violated binding commitments it made in 2011 to securing the platform."
Earlier this year, Donald Trump Jr. sat down with Megyn Kelly where he claims Fox News has him "on the blacklist", which. is why he has not appeared for an interview in over a year.
“I’ve been told that I’m on the blacklist,” he said.
“Are you kicked off of Fox News?” Kelly asked when he went onto her “Megyn Kelly Show” YouTube channel.
“I assume so,” Trump responded. “I’ve been told that I’m on the blacklist. The last time I was on I think was like August, so almost a year ago.”
At that time, Donald Trump did not officially announce his reelection candidacy for 2024, and the polls were showing him second or third behind him.
“I was like, ‘Don’t show him that poll, please. I don’t need to hear about that one. We’ll just keep that one quiet,’” Trump Jr. said, laughing. “They’re like, ‘No, no it’s really good.’ I was like, ‘No, no, it’s going to make things really awkward.’”
“As you and I probably both know, there are mandates there and they make decisions and they want to control who that person is,” he continued, claiming that Fox was invested in other candidates, such as Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. “And you saw which way they were going for quite some time. It was a fluff fest like I’ve never seen for quite a few months there.”
“Again, they want that access to power that, unfortunately, is such a big part of today’s political process," he concluded.
